RELIABLE VS WATCH OUT
What it's worth - now and later.
Grand Caravans were discontinued in 2020, so used demand keeps prices firm. At this age depreciation slows to roughly 8-9% per year.

IF YOU SELL TODAY
What to check before you buy.
Ten minutes with the car tells you more than any ad. Bring a flashlight and a paper towel - here is where to point them.
Cold start & idle
Ask for a cold start. The needle spikes, then should settle near 750 rpm and hold dead steady. A hunting or bouncing idle means vacuum leaks or worse.
Oil leaks
Look under the engine and along the valve cover with your flashlight. A dusty oil film is normal at this age - fresh, wet drips are not.
Exhaust smoke
A puff of vapour at cold start is fine. Steady blue smoke means burning oil, sweet-smelling white means coolant (head gasket), black means running rich.
Transmission feel
Foot on the brake, shift P-R-N-D. Each gear should engage in under a second with no clunk. On the drive, listen for shudder at 60-80 km/h.
Rust spots
Check wheel arches, rocker panels, door bottoms and under the trunk mat. On Ontario cars, surface rust is common - bubbling paint means it is deep.
Oil & coolant condition
Amber-brown oil is fine, black means neglected service, milky means coolant is mixing into the oil. Coolant should be bright, never rusty or oily.
