Drivee.

Hi, I'm Evgenka. We're Toronto drivers, like you. A few years and a stack of tickets later, we realised the city makes it deliberately hard to know what to do - which forms to file, which fines you can fight, which deadlines really matter. Most drivers just pay. Quietly. And lose money.

Fighting a ticket
in Ontario.

Can I fight a parking ticket in Ontario?
Yes. Toronto and many other Ontario municipalities run an Administrative Penalty System: you request a screening review rather than a court date, and a screening officer can cancel, reduce or uphold the penalty. Municipalities that have not adopted it still run parking tickets through Provincial Offences Court. Upload your ticket and Drivee tells you which one applies to yours.
How long do I have to dispute it?
About 15 days from the issue date — for a parking screening review and for a Highway Traffic Act offence notice alike. Miss it and a parking fine starts stacking fees, or a moving violation can be convicted in your absence. The exact window is printed on your ticket.
What happens if I just ignore it?
Day 16 adds a $15.39 address search fee. Day 31 adds a $32.10 late payment fee. Day 60 adds a $32.10 plate denial fee, which blocks your licence plate renewal. A $30 ticket left for two months becomes about $109.59. See the full breakdown in our guide to late fees.
Do I need a paralegal or a lawyer?
It depends on the charge. A licensed Ontario paralegal can represent you on Highway Traffic Act matters — speeding, red light, careless, stunt — and usually pays for themselves once the insurance increase is counted. Impaired driving and over 80 are Criminal Code charges, and only a lawyer can represent you there. Drivee checks each firm’s licence before matching, so a criminal charge is never put in front of a paralegal-only firm.
How much does it cost to fight a ticket in Ontario?
Representation for a straightforward Highway Traffic Act matter such as speeding or a red light typically runs a few hundred dollars; careless driving runs higher, and a Criminal Code charge such as impaired driving runs into the thousands. Those are estimates, not quotes — every firm we match prices the case itself at a free consultation. A conviction can cost far more in insurance over three years than the fine and the representation combined, and Drivee shows you both numbers side by side before you decide.
What does Drivee cost?
The scan, the verdict, the cost breakdown, the deadline tracking and the firm matching are free, and we take no commission. The only paid product is the full vehicle history report — $19 CAD, or $30 CAD with an Ontario lien check.
Does Drivee work outside Ontario?
No, and that is deliberate. The deadlines, demerit points, fee ladders and court process we work from are Ontario’s, and every firm we match is licensed here. If you upload a ticket from another province or a US state we will still read it and show you what it says, but we will tell you plainly that we cannot advise on it rather than guess.
What happens to my ticket photo?
It is sent to be read and is not stored on our servers. If you request a case review, your details go to the single firm you picked and nobody else — and we copy you on that email so you can see exactly what was shared.
Is Drivee affiliated with the City of Toronto?
No. Drivee is independent and not affiliated with the City of Toronto, MTO, ServiceOntario, CARFAX, NHTSA or any law firm. We are Toronto drivers who got tired of losing money quietly.
